Bamford Engineers Granite Island/Serving Table

An amazing stylish piece of furniture, combining historical components from both engineering and agriculture, this stunning item can now be used in a number of practical ways; kitchen island, serving table, wine tasting table and so on.

  • The base is made from wrought and cast iron, and was originally a corn roller used in farming. It has been restored, and the metal work treated and painted.
  • Above the metal work, we have added a reclaimed pitch pine double sided drawer, which has been manufactured in the traditional way with dovetail joints.
  • In addition we have hand made brass arms to bring the whole design together.
  • The top is a large piece of black granite, which is 100mm (10cm thick). This was reclaimed from an engineering works, which was involved in the development of the Williams F1 engine in the late 1990's/early 2000's; as a vintage piece, this granite bears a few minor marks and minor chips on the edges, from years of use, which add to the character.
